- I keep hearing about the conflict in Catalonia on the news. How will this impact may stay in Valencia? Will I be safe?
Yes, of course. Spain is a perfectly safe country. It is important for you to know that Valencia is the capital of its own region, an autonomous community, the Valencian Community. It is different to the community of Catalonia, Madrid and the rest of them. Spain has a total of 17 autonomous communities all ruled under the government of Spain as a country and the Spanish constitution. The conflict of Catalonia is specific to that region and has been solved by the Spanish government taking over the control of the region temporarily and reinstating the order by calling on the regional elections of December 21st. So, you should not be concerned if you are flying to Catalonia to connect with Valencia or even planning a visit there.
